DOWNTOWN PATROL UNIT
The City of Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne Police Department opened a new Downtown Patrol Unit office at The Pearl. We filmed the grand opening and made the film that tells the public what the unit is for.
City of Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne Police DepartmentPROJECT OVERVIEW
A new office downtown is only news for a day. What the unit does is the story people need, so the film puts the department on camera to explain it in their own words: a mission to keep downtown safe, welcoming and thriving for everyone who lives, works and visits there, and a unit that goes beyond enforcement to connections and problem solving. It shows the pieces the department named, patrol officers, HEART social workers, air support, seasonal school resource officers, boat patrol and crime prevention through environmental design, over footage of the officers at work in the district, the ribbon cutting at The Pearl and the city from above. Captioned for the feed, with the department’s site on screen at the end for anyone who wants to know more.
